What we are looking for here is basically an integration of a
great customer management system and a simple real time accounting system
combined into one LAMP and C-Panel compatible package that is customer
focused.
Isn't there something out there already?
Not really.
There are custom designed units available at a terrific cost that prices them
beyond the range of small and micro businesses. There are some very effective
and simple systems out that address one or the other area but not a
package.
The main approach I would like to take for
this as a start would be take what already works greatly but separately and
integrate them together as a package that is super efficient portable and
economical to get run and maintain.
So here we go the core components of the
package will be accounting and customer management components.
On the accounting component side of the
package, there is a program that is super efficient and super easy to use that
program is TRBASED it is an old 386 legacy software that is
super.
You can download and install this program and
check it out it has tutorials and samples in the program, it is however limited
by its age but something more modern should be able to be duplicated, there is a
similar program called iCash that is a little more modern but not as useful
check them both out and see if something lamp could be put together similar to
these.
Lets start there.
TRBASED can be downloaded here it will run on
newer PC's but works best if you unzip it to a floppy and run it from the
floppy, check out the tutorials and you'll get the hang of what it does right
away, it does not have enough levels of categories and is limited in the
accounts it will handle and has some date bugs but check it out please, it is
similar to a more modern but much more limited program iCash that you can check out here.
As progress on the accounting modul advances a
management module similar to the popular tree pad products could be developed
and added and structured for specialized i.e. workflow needs.
Please consider helping out in the development
of this project, any funds raised by the project will be made available to the
actual developers. The administrator plans to offer the package to Auto Repair
shops as a website package as a monthly subscription and urges the rest of the
project team to use this project to further their goals as well.
